I saw this label on one of the moisturisers located here. It goes somewhat like this (not lifted word for word, but rather the impression) :

"ATP is used to deliver energy to the skin layer for skin production"
Two things are wrong with this.
1) ATP can never be delivered directly to the skin's surface. Its ionic structure alone dispels any translocation across the membrane. Even if it can be delivered into the surface, I'm guessing it'll need some form of liposomal machinery, thus making this moisturiser a hell lot costlier than that SGD20 or so.
2) Since when is ATP the limiting factor of collagen synthesis? It is a needed-factor that is very much present within the cells. But definitely not the one required for skin (aka collagen) synthesis!
Coming across things like this once in a while gets me chuckling away with amusement, irritated at the wrong information passed out and glad I am in science. At moments like this, I'm sorta glad not to have gone into the field of psychology. (:
